FIRM-TO-FIRM PROJECT PARTNERSHIP & STRATEGIC COLLABORATION MoU BUNDLE

PROJECT-SPECIFIC AGREEMENTS — NOT AN UMBRELLA MODEL

A curated collection of project-specific MoU templates for independent architecture, design, engineering, development, and delivery firms that collaborate as strategic project partners. Each agreement contains its own integrated project particulars, commercial schedule, decision matrix, deliverables/milestones, and pre-commencement checklist.

1. What This Bundle Is — and Is Not

These documents are intended for firm-to-firm project collaborations where the parties want a more integrated commercial and governance arrangement than a conventional specialist-consultant appointment. They are project-specific: no later Project Addendum is required.

The term “partnership” is commercial language only. The templates do not create a partnership firm, LLP, joint venture or jointly liable entity. If the parties intend to form such an entity, they need a separate legally appropriate formation agreement.

2. Included Firm Partnership MoU's

01. Architecture Firm + Architecture Firm — Joint Design / Co-Architect Project Partnership

02. Local Architecture Firm + International Design Firm — Cross-Border Design Partnership

03. Architecture Firm + Interior Design Firm — Integrated Architecture & Interiors Project Partnership

04. Architecture Firm + Landscape Architecture Firm — Built Environment & Landscape Project Partnership

05. Architecture Firm + Urban Planning / Master planning Firm — Planning, Development & Urban Design Project Partnership

06. Architecture Firm + Integrated Engineering Firm — Architecture + Structural / Civil / MEP Engineering Partnership

07. Architecture Firm + Project / Construction Management Firm — Design + Project Delivery Management Partnership

08. Architecture Firm + Design-Build / Contracting Firm — Design & Construction Delivery Partnership

09. Architecture Firm + Developer / Real Estate Development Firm — Development Strategy & Design Project Partnership

10. Architecture Firm + Sustainability / Green Building Firm — Sustainable Design & Certification Project Partnership

11. Architecture Firm + BIM / Digital Delivery Firm — Design Technology & Information Management Partnership

12. Multidisciplinary Design Firm Consortium — Three-or-More-Firm Project Collaboration / Joint Pursuit

3. Best Use Cases

Joint bids and project pursuits where firms want roles and commercial terms agreed before substantial work

Integrated design appointments where two specialist firms present a coordinated service to one client

Local + international design partnerships

Design + delivery arrangements involving PMC, development or design-build firms

Multidisciplinary consortium projects where several independent firms need governance and responsibility clarity

4. When Not to Use a Partnership Template

Use a conventional consultant/subconsultant MoU or professional services agreement instead where one party is simply providing a narrow specialist service under the architect’s direction, and there is no shared project governance, commercial positioning or joint client-facing collaboration.

5. Completion Rule

Before signing, complete Schedules A-D inside the selected MoU. Undefined fee percentages, role labels, liability terms and governing-law placeholders should never be left ambiguous in an executed copy.
